Using social media...some tips!

Today, I was reading one HubSpot blog -- Learning From Kenneth Cole’s Social Media Mistake on how a single tweet can create negative impact. This prompted me to share some tips on how to use social media.

We all know that the 'Viral' effect is the decisive factor in social media, however, if it goes against you then it might be worst for you. Here are some useful tips on how to effectively use social media for positive outcome.

1) Respect Popular Sentiments: Social media is all about respecting popular sentiments across all platforms. You really cannot go away from the ongoing momentum of social media. You have to respect your users, and their views. The more alert you are, the more will be good for you. Apart from this alertness, you should never comment on anything that can lead to create negative feedback. You have to be responsible enough while using any idea, concept to share with others.

2) Be Interactive: It's very easy to be on social media platforms. There are lots of sites where an individual or organization can register to initiate its social media campaign. But the challenge is to keep that campaign moving. For that, one has to be interactive. No social media conversation can be successful or fruitful if it takes a static approach. It has to keep pumping itself with interactions and discussions. Especially, for organizations who are using social media as a lead generation tool, they have to follow this interactive approach blindly. It is essential to interact with your target audience on a regular basis. And the conversation has to be a two-way process; it cannot be a one-way traffic.

3) Choose right platform: It's raining social media platforms in market today. The multiple social media presence may prove to be suicidal for organization, as it would be difficult to generate precise business message. Every platform has its own advantages and disadvantages, hence, it is very critical for organization to identify platforms that it believe would generate business for it. Managing a less, yet controlled, presence will allow organization to interact with potential customers effectively and easily. This will allow the organization to build brand loyalty amongst its users.

4) Stay connected: It is always essential to stay connected with your target audience. This helps you understand their behavior, requirements, and pain points. This knowledge makes 'give and take' with your audience more interactive and innovative.

5) Have efficiency: You have to be very efficient in your social media presence. This efficiency is in terms of your conversation and interaction with your target audience. In social media, it is very important what you say and how you say. You should not have 'casual' approach towards your conversation with your audience. Be alert and 'on your toe' to impress and engage your audience.

Social media is very sensitive...please make sure that you are respecting this sensitivity while using any social media platform.

More tips, insights will follow...

Till then, stay connected!!!

Three Ways to Create Quality Content

When it comes content, sometimes, it becomes hard to explain the “quality”. There could be different understandings for brands and the customers when we talk about quality. Hence, sometimes, it becomes difficult to strike a balance to attain that much-needed quality. To quote, Doug Kessler, co-founder of Velocity: “Quality content resonates with its audience. If it doesn’t do that, it may be smart or beautiful or funny, but it ain’t quality.” And I completely agree to what Doug says. The quality of the content should depend on how users interact and respond to it. There are different aspects associated with the content quality. For example, what value it gives to the users, is it addressing buyers’ concerns or not and the list continues. While agreeing to all the above mentioned points, it really seems difficult challenge for the marketers to achieve that quality on regular basis. And besides what suits to one person may not be the ideal for other. Here are some useful tips t
